27

27 IS HERE,

and it’s my favorite number too. So if this year sucks I’m changing my favorite number probably. What a year 26 was, the most difficult one I’ve had thus far would be an understatement. Yet in its hardship, I’ve learned more about redemption, love, and grace than I ever have. 26 was hard and wonderful, but anything that’s healthy takes time and blood. So in honor of these lessons. Here’s 10 things I learned as 26.

1- God will, and can redeem anything, absolutely anything. I’ve never believed this more than I do now in this moment.

2- The only thing running away changes, is the time limit on healing.

3- When in the Middle East during an Earthquake, DON’T run outside naked in your bathrobe and lock your keys in your apartment.

4- No matter where your hurt comes from, someone else or yourself, it’s your responsibility to  heal, no one can allow you to heal but you.

5- DON’T step on nails that go through you’re entire foot in Iraq, it will cause you to loose feeling in your middle toe. (Kinda cool though.)

6- Love yourself enough, so that others needs are more important than your wants.

7- Feel your pain, hurt, and joy, deeply. Experience, and understand it, walk along side it with Jesus, but never let it lead.

8- Some things, many things, are too heavy to carry alone. We all need help, everyone of us.

9- Be patient with yourself, you’re human; we are all trying to figure out this life together. Be patient with yourself, give yourself grace.

10- Sanctification is a HARD, yet if it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be worth it.

(A Knight Tale is still the best movie ever made in the history of man and nothing will ever top it.)
